CoLAB BIOREF Opening

A4F has the privilege to announce the opening of its CoLAB BIOREF center for Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (LVT) region, of which it’s co-founder, in Solvay's Business Park in Póvoa de Santa Iria.
The Collaborative Lab for Biorefineries (CoLab BIOREF) is a non-profit and private society that strives to promote advanced biorefineries through the development of R&I activities, on technological platforms, for the conversion of biomass and biowaste.
This Society, of which Solvay Portugal and A4F - Algae for Future are founding entities, defines for the strategic axis in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, the development of microalgae biorefineries and relative matters; but also, together with the Center in the North Region, renewable hydrogen aimed for the transport sector; furthermore, in collaboration with the Alentejo hub, the axis of liquid fuel biorefineries.
CoLAB BIOREF also integrates as founding members the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG), the Forest and Paper Research Institute (RAIZ), several other higher education institutions (Técnico Lisbon, Universities from Minho, Porto and Aveiro, Nova University of Lisbon, Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre) and several companies (including GALP, TAP, Biodourogás and Biotrend).
